Membership in the AMMV is partially fund raising and community outreach. We, the Museum, desire to involve the people and tax payers of the Calumet Region, and well beyond. Membership includes (but not limited to):

- Opinion on Growth and Direction of Museum
- Participation in Parades and Special Events
- Free Admission to the Museum Site

The American Museum for Military Vehicles - AMMV
Located in Crown Point, Indiana, the AMMV is dedicated to honoring our veterans and preserving the memory of their sacrifice. The museum promotes a though process to our young people and visitors for avoiding war. Displaing to our young people and visitors the living conditions, weapons, and dangerous situations our Military personnel have endured may provoke a thought of diplomacy instead of direct action. Always ready, willing, and able to fight when called upon, our service people have maintained the freedom of this nation. A FREEDOM that should be honored and respected. In order for us to realize our dream of a display and office building on our museum site, a "plank owner" program will be available as a one-time, limited edition offer. There are only a total of 150 spaces available. This is open to all persons with preference given to AMMV members. Cost is $500.00 minimum, with no maximum to the full cost of the building.
In the United States Navy, a plank owner is one of the orignal crew. The first crew aboard the ship finishes the outfitting of the work, recreation, berthing, and other functioning spaces aboard the new ship. These crewmembers names are entered into a registry that follows the ship throughout its service period. Should the occasion arise that the ship is decommissioned and scraped, each of the plank owners receive a small part of the deck.
The AMMV now implements a similar program. We will not accept material trade-offs as part of the building program (except and only if the material is directly related to the building, i.e. a poured concrete slab, structural steel, or complete systems such as HVAC, furnace, and/or security). The plank owners will also receive a lifetime membership to the AMMV. To date, we have eleven (11) members that have pledged to become plank owners. Once the building is started, the donation will not be considered refundable. Nor will a refund be considered outside the current calendar or fiscal year. The name(s) of the plank owners (persons or organzations) will be displayed on a plaque affixed to the building in a prominent location. Each person or organization will receive a certificate acknowledging his or her donation. In short, the first 150 persons or organizations to donate will be the plank owners of the building.
