WWII Re-Enactment Days and A Night at the Military Museum: October 16 & 17, 2010

 

Please join the Friends of the Parkway and the American Museum of Military Vehicles (AMMV) for their joint fundrasier "WWII Re-Enenactment Days and A Night at the Military Musuem".  The event takes place on Saturday, October 16th and Sunday, October 17th.  WWII re-enactors will perform during both days, and on Saturday night there will be a special event with a beer garden, food, dancing, a silent auction and a bonfire.  Beer will be provided by Crown Brewery and entertainment from Wolfgang who will sing signature songs from the 40's and 50's.  Afterwards a DJ will take over for dancing into the night.

Agenda & Admissions

Saturday, October 16th: 

Site opens at 10am - Opening Flag Ceremony

- Vehicles open for tours, pictures and rides

- "Fire the Cannon" raffle commences

- Food & Gift Vendors open

- Camps open (talk to troops, see weapons, and study their tactics)

**Battle Starts at 2pm**

- "Fire the Cannon" raffle winner announced after battle

- Re-enactor camps close and Flag Lowering Ceremony at 6pm

 

A NIGHT AT THE MILITARY MUSEUM (following Battle)

- No addtional entrance fee if paid for battle

- Beer Garden Open from 4pm to 9pm

- Silent Auction from 4pm to 8pm

- Wolffgang (Andrew Sisters Act) at 3:30pm

- DJ with Dancing at 5pm

- Bonfire at 8pm

- Site closes at 10pm

 

Sunday, October 17th:

**Battle starts at 1pm**

- Flag Lowering Ceremony at 4pm

Site closes after battle.

 

ADMISSIONS:

$3.00 - 8 years old and up, 7yrs and younger...FREE

$5.00 - Entrance to Beer Garden+first beer / $3.00 per extra beer

Food vendors will be onsite

Both events will take place at the location of the AMMV and the future site of the Lake County WWI & WWII Veterans Memorial.  This site is at the intersection of 113th Avenue and US 231 in Crown Point, IN.  Parking will be provided at the Crown Point Softball Complex next door, just east of the event site.  Please see maps below:
